Mouhamed played high school basketball at Prolific Prep in Napa, California. After two successful seasons with Prolific Prep, Mouhamed committed to Washington State University. As a Cougar, Mouhamed had a very successful freshman season where he secured numerous awards including being a five time recipient of the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week award and being named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
